She lost weight on 25 chocolate bars a day

We are constantly admonished by experts to eat sensibly, bur some people survive on the most extraordinary diets. Take Jessica Coveney, 22, a student of psychology at Bristol University. Teased at school for being fat, she began eating chocolate as a comfort food. She took up a part-time job in a sweet shop and asked to be paid in chocolate instead of cash. She tried to keep to two bars a day, but was soon on her fourth by 11 in the morning.

Despite the huge calorie intake, Ms Coveney's weight fell from 10½ Stone to eight stone, a weight she has kept to, despite her current consumption of 25 chocolate bars every day, amounting to a staggering 7,500 calories. She has one proper meal every five days.

"The doctor says I'm in perfect health," she told the Bristol Evening Post "and I feel in great shape - a size 10 - even though I've been a chocoholic for five years."
